The Coordinator manages various tasks and projects for Specialty Physician Practices, focusing on effective coordination of physician and patient needs across multiple locations, including scheduling, billing, and data collection. This role involves communicating instructions to patients and families, understanding surgical procedures, and representing the practices to internal and external partners.
Required experience includes 18-24 months in a subspecialty surgery scheduler role with subject matter expertise, along with the ability to work independently and knowledge of organizational policies. Education requires a High School Diploma with some college, though an Associate's degree is preferred.
The Cardiovascular Services Coordinator is responsible for various tasks and projects for Specialty Physician Practices. Effective coordination of the various needs of the physicians and patients at multiple locations including but not limited to procedure and appointment scheduling, billing, data collection, quality improvement initiatives and resource utilization. Has a familiarity with medical terminology and a working knowledge of CPT and ICD 10 coding as it relates to testing and procedures in their given subspecialty. Able to effectively communicate non-clinical perioperative instructions to patients and family members, and to provide assistance with necessary paperwork. Demonstrated understanding of surgical procedures, such as the time a procedure takes, types of equipment or devices to be utilized and whether or not vendor support is required. Must demonstrate an ability to organize, prioritize, meet deadlines, and follow through with detail orientation. Effectively represent the Specialty practices with external and internal partners.
