The technologist performs diagnostic CT exams, verifies patient identity, obtains necessary medical history, explains procedures including risks and benefits, and acquires appropriate images according to protocol. They also review images, communicate findings to the radiologist, respond to emergencies, and provide post-care instructions.
Candidates are required to have or complete AHA BLS training and possess one or more years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist or hold advanced certification in Computed Tomography. Preferred registration is by ARRT in Radiology or CT, and strong analytical, interpersonal, and technical skills are necessary for equipment operation and patient interaction.
