The Medical Assistant will perform assigned telephone patient engagement following clear protocols, assessing patient understanding of care, and assisting with navigation of health center programs and services. Responsibilities also include collaborating on population health management, scheduling appointments, educating patients on follow-up care, and reinforcing provided education.
A Medical Assistant diploma from an approved course and a High School Graduate diploma (or GED equivalent) are required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates must possess current American Heart Association healthcare provider CPR (BLS) certification and may require a valid California driver's license, automobile, and insurance for occasional travel between sites.

Or equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the skills, knowledge and ability to perform the essential job duties, and which meets any required state or federal certification requirements. Current American Heart Association healthcare provider CPR (BLS), or Advanced Cardiac Life Support, or Advanced Trauma Life Support, or Advance Resuscitation Training required. Traveling between sites and other locations is occasionally required. Must have a valid California driver’s license, an automobile, and proof of minimum levels of car insurance as required under California law, although limits of $100,000 are recommended. An acceptable driving record is also required. California law requires all drivers to obtain a valid California driver’s license within ten days of establishing residency. Reasonable accommodation may be provided on a case-by-case basis. Mileage and other reimbursement governed by policy. Experience/Specialized skills (including Language) At least 1 year of experience in ambulatory care setting or similar setting is highly desirable. Bilingual in English/ Spanish may be required. Ability to display cultural sensitivity and respect to ethnically and culturally diverse patient populations.
