The technologist performs diagnostic imaging exams using CT, MRI, Interventional Radiology, and Cardiology equipment, verifying patient identity and obtaining necessary medical history. They are responsible for explaining procedures, acquiring appropriate images, reviewing results, documenting exceptions, and responding to medical emergencies.
Candidates must be registered by ARRT in Radiology, VI, or CV, and must obtain AHA BLS certification by the end of orientation. ACLS or PALS certification is required within 6 to 12 months depending on the setting, along with at least one year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
