The Clinical Dietitian conducts nutrition assessments for at-risk patients to determine and develop appropriate nutrition therapy plans, involving evaluation of medical history, lab values, and cultural factors. Responsibilities also include serving as a resource for staff, participating in multidisciplinary rounds, developing intern programs, and monitoring food service provisions to ensure optimal patient nutrition.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition/Dietetics and complete a Dietetic Internship or supervised practice program in a healthcare setting. Registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is required, or eligibility to pass the exam within six months of internship completion.
