The Clinical Dietitian conducts nutrition assessments for at-risk patients to determine and develop appropriate nutrition therapy plans, involving evaluation of medical history, lab values, and cultural factors. Responsibilities also include serving as a resource for hospital staff, participating in research, monitoring foodservice personnel, and ensuring optimal nutritional service delivery to patients.
Candidates must possess a Master's degree in Nutrition/Dietetics and complete a Dietetic Internship or supervised practice program in a healthcare setting. Registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is required, or the candidate must be registry eligible and pass the exam within six months of internship completion.
