Job Summary Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Physiatrist to join our CARF-accredited Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit (IRU) located in Utica, NY. This is an opportunity to practice true inpatient rehabilitation medicine in a collaborative, interdisciplinary setting with strong administrative support and a commitment to high-quality outcomes. MVHS has the only CARF-accredited rehab program between Syracuse and Schenectady.Position/Community Highlights
24-bed Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit
Medically complex adult patient population (stroke, TBI, SCI C4 and below, neuro, ortho)
Interdisciplinary team model with PT, OT, SLP, psychology, and rehab nursing
Daily physician oversight with strong administrative support

Brand new, 374-bed state-of-the-art Level III hospital with a Level II NICU Education/Experience Requirements REQUIRED:

Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) and successful completion of a residency and internship.
Experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified, which may include residency in a directly related medical specialty.
Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care.
Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
Knowledge of community medical diagnostic and patient care services in area of medical expertise.
Ability to supervise, advise, and train clinical professionals and/or students in area of expertise.
Knowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids and ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage.
Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops.
Knowledge of current principles, methods and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment in area of expertise.
