The Cytotechnologist microscopically evaluates cytology specimens and screens for abnormalities, rendering interpretations and diagnoses. They assist in Rapid-On Site Evaluations and perform record-keeping procedures, fulfilling some supervisory duties in the absence of the cytopathology supervisor.
Candidates must have completed Cytotechnology training in a CAHEA approved program and have at least one year of laboratory experience as a Cytotechnologist. They must also be eligible for or possess a State of Florida Clinical Laboratory Technologist license in Cytology.
