The Licensed Practical Nurse Care Guide is responsible for registering patients, collecting payments, assisting providers with care and treatment, and ensuring a positive patient experience. This role involves both front office and back-office duties in the outpatient management of patients.
Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED and an LPN License, along with BLS certification within two weeks of hire. Strong interpersonal, communication, and computer skills are required, with a preference for candidates with clinical service experience.
The Licensed Practical Nurse Care Guide is responsible for registering, collecting payments, rooming, assisting the provider with care and treatment, discharging, and following-up with patients. It is the role of the Care Guide to companion patients and their “secondary guests" through the entire experience to maximize clinical excellence, reduce treatment times, and maximize the patient experience; before, during, and after the patient visit. The Care Guide is responsible for assisting the provider with front office and back-office duties in the outpatient management of patients on a rotating basis. This role is responsible for a variety of clinical functions within a clinic setting requiring knowledge and integration of available standards, resources, and data; discretion; good judgment; diplomacy; decision making; and a customer service attitude. Acting as the patient advocate, the Care Guide has continuous contact with providers, patients, patient families/significant others, community agencies, and patient care staff and management. Floating to various facilities required based on business need.
Experience: 1 year experience in a clinical service. Previous experience with an electronic health record. Experience with injections, minor procedure assistance OSF HealthCare is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
