The Anesthetist responds to patient anesthetic needs across preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases, administering anesthesia services under medical direction and managing emergent airways as needed. Key accountabilities include formulating anesthetic plans with an anesthesiologist, performing special line placements, and maintaining comprehensive documentation of care and substance disbursement.
Candidates must possess a Master's Degree in Nurse Anesthesia or meet an exception for CRNAs who graduated before December 31, 2003, from an accredited program. Required credentials include SC RN-Advance Practice and CRNA-Nurse Anesthetist licensure, with no previous experience explicitly required.
