The Physical Therapist Assistant implements treatment plans developed by the supervising therapist, monitors patient responses, and communicates progress and goal revisions. Responsibilities also include documenting services, educating patients and families, assisting with discharge planning, and providing information on adaptive equipment and community support programs.
Candidates must have an Associate's degree and be a graduate of a Physical Therapy Assistant program, holding a Physical Therapy Assistant license in the state of Kentucky and Basic Life Support certification. The role requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, the ability to work with minimal supervision, and the capacity to handle stressful environments.
