The Medical Assistant performs direct patient care under supervision, including preparing patients, administering tests, and recording diagnostic laboratory results. Responsibilities also involve coordinating care, maintaining medical records, and assisting healthcare providers with various procedures and examinations.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, along with completion of a Medical Assistant training program certificate, or 1-3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant, EMT, or Certified Nursing Attendant with a valid certificate. Successful completion of the Northwell Health Medical Assistant training program is also an acceptable qualification.
