The Clinical Specialist supports oncology patients across inpatient and outpatient settings by participating in interdisciplinary rounds, leading chemotherapy decision-making, managing discharge services, and ensuring seamless transitions of care. In the outpatient setting, the pharmacist proactively reviews charts, validates complex chemotherapy regimens, coordinates admissions, and provides patient education and drug information support.
require a PharmD or BS in Pharmacy, current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist, and specific post-graduate training (PGY2 residency or PGY1 plus two years of clinical specialist experience, or four years of equivalent experience). Additional certifications like BLS/ACLS/PALS may be required based on specific duties.
