The Dental Assistant supports providers by preparing patients, assisting during dental procedures, and maintaining clean, sterile exam areas. They are also responsible for managing patient records, taking x-rays, and educating patients on oral hygiene.
Candidates must hold a valid Registered Dental Assistant license in the state of Washington and provide proof of training. Strong communication and computer skills are required, with previous dental assisting experience preferred.
Greets and escorts patient to assigned dental chair. Maintain accurate patient records and update charts, complete required paperwork Assist the dentist during procedures (e.g., fillings, crowns, extractions). Apply sealants and completing child prophies. Takes and processes x-rays as needed. Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-procedure care. Ensures dental exam areas are clean, stocked, and ready for patients. Cleans, prepares and sterilizes instruments. Monitoring of supplies for reordering. Observes and follows required safety protocols, including handling and disposal of sharps, use of personal protective equipment, exposure to blood-borne pathogens, and general safety of employees and patients. Performs other duties as assigned. Travel may be required. QualificationsEducation/Experience: A valid Registered Dental Assistant license in the state of Washington and proof of training is required at the time of hire. Experience in dental assisting preferred.
