The physician will provide comprehensive musculoskeletal and interventional pain care in an outpatient setting. Responsibilities include performing evaluations, interventional procedures, and collaborating with orthopedic spine and neurosurgery teams.
Candidates must hold an M.D. or D.O. degree and have completed an ACGME or AOA accredited residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Board certification or eligibility is required, along with demonstrated clinical activity in at least 25 PM&R cases in the last 12 months.
Physical Medicine and Rehab Core Privileges include the ability to perform history and physical examination, admit, evaluate, diagnose, and provide consultation and nonsurgical therapeutic treatment to inpatients and outpatients of all ages with physical impairments or disabilities involving neuromuscular, neurologic, cardiovascular, or musculoskeletal disorders. Examples of these disease process would include but are not limited to: cerebral palsy, stroke, MS, spina bifida with paraplegia or paraparesis, arthritis, Parkinson’s disease, rehab care of amputations, collagen disease, tissue disorders such as burns and ulcers, hemiplegia from CVA or other causes, traumatic brain injury or spinal cord trauma. Qualifications M.D. or D.O. degree. Experience can be demonstrated in one of the following ways: An applicant who has just completed a residency shall provide his/her residency or fellowship log. OR An applicant who is not applying directly out of a residency shall provide a quality profile from hospital(s) where he/she currently has privileges showing his/her clinical activity for the past 12 months, including numbers of procedures performed morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications. The applicant must be able to demonstrate active involvement in at least 25 Physical Medicine and Rehab cases in the last 12 months. OR If a quality profile is not available from the hospital(s) where the applicant currently has privileges, documentation of the applicant’s clinical activity for the past 12 months is required. The applicant must be able to demonstrate active involvement in at least 25 Physical Medicine and Rehab cases in the last 12 months. More education and experience may be required the more advanced the practice becomes. Successful completion of a hospital affiliated Physical Medicine and Rehab residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada. The Credentials Committee; Physician Executive or Medical Affairs Committee; and the Board of Directors or the Board of Governors may consider training at residency programs accredited by organizations other than the above. Certification by the appropriate specialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable. Those applicants who are not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their residency training within the last five years shall be eligible, however must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their residency training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement. (Refer to each entities policy for grandfather exceptions) Compensation Annual compensation range of $500,000-575,000 for the first two years of the employment contract, plus estimated potential to exceed compensation floor from personally performed wRVUs.
