The Phlebotomist assists technologists with venipuncture and capillary blood collections on patients, following standard procedures with minimal deviation. The role requires exercising courtesy and tact when interacting with patients.
A high school diploma or equivalent and completion of a phlebotomy course are required, although prior experience is preferred. The candidate must demonstrate the necessary knowledge and skills for patient care relative to age-specific needs and deliver outstanding customer service.
Assists technologists in venipuncture and capillary blood collections on patients. The work is repetitive in nature and follows standard procedure with little room for deviation. The employee must exercise courtesy and tact in dealing with patients. Work is performed under general supervision following a period of rigid on-the-job training and is checked by observation and quality control procedures.
