This role initiates and directs the timely assignment of beds for patients requiring inpatient admission or observation, promoting collaboration across departments for service administration. The coordinator continually monitors the facility's status and plans bed movements to ensure optimal utilization while also supporting registration functions as needed.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent, along with completion of an accredited medical terminology course. A minimum of three years of related experience is required, including one year specifically in Bed Control or Scheduling.
Initiates and directs timely assignment of beds for persons requiring inpatient admission or outpatient observation. Promotes a collaborative healthcare intake process through multidepartmental coordination for service administration. Continually monitors and reports the current state of the house and plan for moving beds to achieve optimal utilization. Supports pre registration and registration by serving as back-up when needed.
