Technologists are responsible for patient safety, including pre-screening and radiation safety protocols when handling radioactive materials, while producing high-quality diagnostic PET/CT images. They must also effectively communicate with customers and radiologists, train new staff, and troubleshoot scanner and peripheral equipment.
Candidates must possess dual certification as a Nuclear Medicine or PET Technologist (by NMTCB or ARRT) and a Computed Tomography Technologist (by ARRT), along with a High School Diploma or equivalent experience. A state license, CPR certification, and the ability to work at several locations are also required.
