The pharmacist is responsible for dispensing prescribed drugs, transferring prescriptions, and providing drug information in collaboration with other healthcare professionals. This role also involves performing clinical duties such as medication therapy management and clinical monitoring to achieve positive patient outcomes.
Candidates must possess a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) degree and be licensed as a Registered Pharmacist in Mississippi. Required experience includes retail background and familiarity with 340B and Patient Assistance programs.
The pharmacist dispenses prescribed drugs in a healthcare facility environment, transfers prescriptions, provides drug information in collaboration to other healthcare professionals, performs medication order entry into the computer, monitors patient profiles for appropriate medication use oversees the work of the support staff and documents any relevant information. Performs clinical duties including medication therapy management and clinical monitoring with a goal of positive clinical patient outcomes. The position is expected to meet state certifications, requires familiarity with standards concepts, practices, and procedures, and relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals.
