The Nurse Practitioner provides compassionate care to patients with life-limiting illnesses by managing symptoms and addressing physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. They collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans and facilitate goals-of-care discussions.
Candidates must hold a Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing and possess a current, unrestricted RN license. Required certifications include ACLS, BLS, and an Advanced Practice License from the ANCC.
A Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner is an advanced practice registered nurse who specializes in providing compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals with serious, chronic, or life-limiting illnesses. The role focuses on improving quality of life by managing symptoms, addressing physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, and supporting patients and their families through complex healthcare decisions.
The Palliative Care NP works collaboratively with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive assessments, diagnosing and treating acute and chronic conditions, prescribing medications, and facilitating goals-of-care discussions, including advance care planning.
This role involves care in a hospital and outpatient clinic setting.
