Assist Registered Nurses and Radiation Oncologists with daily clinic operations and patient care. Responsibilities include obtaining vital signs, performing nursing assessments, and coordinating patient medical records and appointments.
Requires a High School Diploma and a CMA certification from a national testing agency, along with BLS CPR certification. Preference is given to candidates with at least two years of clinic experience, particularly in oncology.
SCOPE: Assist Registered Nurse/Radiation Oncologist with daily clinic responsibilities. This includes obtaining patient medical information from various medical facilities and the patient to ensure a complete and accurate medical record. Schedules and coordinates appointments for special procedures and other testing. Obtains vital signs and completes nursing assessments for all patient visits. FUNCTIONS: 1. Obtaining Vital Signs/completing Nursing Assessments 2. Scheduling/Coordinating appointments 3. Collecting medical records for scheduled appointments 4. Performs medical record scanning 5. Other Duties as Assigned QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent Assisting in a clinic for 2 years or more preferred Oncology clinic experience highly preferred CMA (certified medical assistant) certification required from a national testing agency (NHA, NCCT, AAMA, NAHP etc.) BLS CPR certification required For more than 50 years, the staff at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center has provided the highest quality care to our patients.
