The Mammo Tech is responsible for obtaining quality positioning and imaging studies while ensuring maximum patient comfort and safety during screening and diagnostic mammogram examinations. This includes performing mammography procedures and assisting the radiologist, alongside conducting daily Quality Assurance activities.

SCHEDULE: M-F; 8 am - 4:30 pm SUMMARY As a Mammo Tech, you are to demonstrate excellent customer service, communication skills, and obtain quality positioning and imaging quality studies while providing maximum comfort and safety to patients. Warm and comforting patient care skills are mandatory for these sensitive procedures. Performs screening and diagnostic mammogram examinations and assists the radiologist in performing mammographic procedures. This team member’s role is to obtain images of good diagnostic quality while providing maximum comfort and safety to the patient undergoing these exams. RESPONSIBILITIES Mammography. Perform and/or assist diagnostic, screening, ultrasound, and interventional mammography procedures; perform daily and periodic Mammography Quality Assurance (QA) activities under the direct supervision of the mammography QA Technologist; monitor image quality on a continuous basis to ensure that all quality standards are met General Maintenance. Monitor equipment for proper performance and functionality; clean, restock, and prepare examination rooms on a daily basis Documentation. Complete all necessary documentation in the radiological information system (RIS) and/or patient charts

QUALIFICATIONS: Two-year college degree in Radiologic Technologist in Applied Science or equivalent. NYS license in Radiologic Technology OR must hold a NYS permit and obtain licensure within six months of employment. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification (ARRT-R) is required within six months of employment.

QUALIFICAITONS: Prior Radiologic Technologist experience. ARRT-M Advanced Mammography Certification. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and ability to work with various software applications. Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
