The Registered Nurse in Surgery provides direct and comprehensive nursing care to surgical patients in an acute care setting, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, hold a current RN license, and possess BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications. A minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience, especially in perioperative services, is preferred.
Education Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Licenses/Certifications Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required within time frame specified in facility policy) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (required within time frame specified in facility policy) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (required within timeframe specified in facility policy) Experience Minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience preferred Previous perioperative or surgical services experience strongly preferred
