The Clinical Access Nurse, LPN serves as the main contact for clinical questions, refill requests, and prior authorizations for patients. Responsibilities include managing phone calls, completing paperwork, and assisting in the clinic as needed.
Candidates must have a current Indiana license as a Licensed Practical Nurse and a minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience. Skills in communication, critical thinking, and knowledge of nursing procedures are essential.

Eskenazi Health serves as the public hospital division of the Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County. Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 327-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus as well as at 10 Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis.
The Licensed Practical Nurse, in collaboration with an RN, performs the functions of a Licensed Practical Nurse in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating assigned patient care.
Graduation from an accredited training program for Licensed Practical Nurses, or the equivalent, incorporating pharmacology, or proof of completion of pharmacology course
Six months of clinical nursing experience with patients of all age groups
Current Indiana license as Licensed Practical Nurse or eligibility for license
Experience working in a physician’s office, immediate care or emergency room preferred.
Knowledge of psychiatric diagnoses if working in mental health (for Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center only)
Knowledge, skills & abilities
Knowledge acquired in an accredited LPN training program; skills in delivery of patient care, and use of equipment and instruments appropriate to assigned unit
Good interpersonal communication skills with ability to accurately read and record information
Ability to follow oral and written instructions, and to communicate and work effectively with a wide variety of people/patients
Ability to function in stressful or crisis situations
Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served
Ability to use age appropriate communications skills
Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data/interpret appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to age-specific needs
All individuals working for the Opioid Treatment Program must have experience and training to safely manage therapeutic services to patients and to provide therapeutic services to patients receiving Opioid treatment medication
