The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will evaluate and manage patients for wound care across various facility types, ensuring care meets current standards and providing education to facility staff. Key duties include addressing acute and chronic primary care complaints, creating medical plans of care, ordering diagnostics, prescribing medications, and performing timely documentation and billing.
Candidates must possess a valid Wisconsin Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner License or a Physician Assistant license, along with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and the ability to obtain a DEA License. Required qualifications also include Wound Care Board Certification (WOCN) within six months of hire, excellent clinical skills, high emotional intelligence, and strong problem-solving abilities.

The Wound Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant functions under the clinical supervision of licensed physicians, providing high quality wound care to patients within Skilled Nursing Facilities, Assisted Living, Independent Living, Memory Care, Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital, and Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital settings in our Wisconsin Rapids, Stevens Point, Wausau, Merrill and Tomahawk service areas.
Onsite daily.
