The Speech-Language Pathologist organizes and conducts Speech-Language Pathology services to facilitate the rehabilitation of individuals with speech, language, cognitive-linguistic, psychosocial, and swallowing disabilities. This includes directing patient participation in selected activities and performing evaluations, developing treatment plans, and educating patients and families.
Candidates must possess a Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology and have completed graduate program clinical experience. Required certifications include State of Ohio licensure, ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (or Clinical Fellow status), and Basic Life Support Certification.
PRN Speech Language Pathologist IP Acute Care position to cover Adult Acute care SLP service line at SMC to support FT staff PTO, Call offs and census needs. Modified Barium Swallow experience a plus. A Brief Overview Organizes and conducts Speech-Language Pathology services to facilitate the (re)habilitation of people with physical and/or psychosocial disabilities. The Speech-Language Pathologist directs the patient's participation in selected activities/treatments to promote and/or maintain good health and communication.
Education Qualifications Master's Degree MA or MS Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited graduate program. (Required)
Skills and Abilities Must have professional initiative, objectivity, good time management and interpersonal skills. (Required proficiency) Must be physically and cognitively able to provide patient assessment and treatment. (Required proficiency) Requires the evaluation and treatment skills necessary to provide Speech-Language Pathology services appropriate to the developmental/chronological age of patients on their caseload. Licenses and Certifications Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Licensed by the State of Ohio, Board of Speech Language Pathology and Audiology or Conditional license by the State of Ohio.
