Cardiovascular Technologists perform diagnostic tests and assist physicians during procedures related to heart and vascular conditions. They ensure accurate diagnostics and high-quality patient support.
Candidates must have BLS certification upon hire and obtain ACLS certification within 30 days. Preferred qualifications include ARRT-R certification and experience in a Cardiovascular Lab.
**Candidates who are within six months of obtaining their Registered Technologist (R.T.) certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT / ARRT-R) are encouraged to apply. Recent graduates and entry-level applicants are also welcome! Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): Perform Electrocardiograms (EKGs) to measure the electrical activity of the heart, monitor the heart's rhythm, and detect abnormalities such as arrhythmias Work with cardiologists to assist in cardiac catheterizations for interventional procedures, to examine the heart and possibly treat blockages Assist with angioplasty and stenting, minimally invasive procedures designed to open blocked arteries and aid physicians in placing stents to keep these arteries open May assist in the setup and monitoring of pacemakers and defibrillator implantations, devices that help regulate the heart's rhythm Prepare patients for cardiovascular tests and procedures, including positioning, explaining the procedure, and ensuring patient comfort During tests and interventional procedures, monitor the patient’s vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, etc.) and report any issues to the supervising physician
