Phlebotomists are responsible for the collection and procurement of blood and human specimens in a clinical setting, ensuring a safe environment for patients. They collaborate with clinical counterparts and perform venipunctures and skin punctures according to established guidelines.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of related work experience. Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician from the American Society for Clinical Pathology is also required.
