The Certified Medical Assistant delivers direct, age-specific care to patients under the direction of a physician, following the established plan of care. This role involves functioning under the direction of a licensed independent practitioner, manager, and/or RN in providing patient care, emotional support, and problem-solving.
Required qualifications include current Medical Assistant Certification from a recognized national association and AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent, along with a High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience requirements vary: one year of experience is needed if not a program graduate, but no experience is required for graduates of an accredited medical assisting program.
