The primary role involves establishing helping relationships with 24 individuals who have psychiatric and co-occurring substance abuse disabilities. The practitioner will assist these individuals in connecting with and utilizing formal and natural resources to achieve productive, healthy, and satisfying lifestyles.
A Bachelor’s degree in a human service or health discipline along with two years of experience is required, though Master’s degrees in related fields are encouraged. Candidates should possess strong communication and organizational skills, computer proficiency, and basic knowledge of the behavioral health system and recovery principles.

Position: Mental Health Rehabilitation Practitioner
Compensation: $50,000-$52,000 per year (based on level of credentials)
Location: Riverhead, NY
37.5 hours/week; daytimes, occasional evenings

A Mental Health Rehabilitation Practitioner will establish helping relationships with 24 people who have psychiatric and co-occurring substance abuse disabilities. The primary role of the practitioner is to assist individuals to connect with and utilize formal and natural resources critical to attaining and maintaining productive, healthy, and satisfying lifestyles. Key activities include individual rehabilitative goal planning, group work using a psycho-educational format, and teamwork with multi-disciplinary colleagues within an OMH licensed PROS program.
A Bachelor’s degree in a human service/health discipline and two years’ experience is required. Candidates with Master’s degrees related to physical/mental health are also encouraged to apply.
