The Registered Nurse is independently responsible and accountable for prescribing, delegating, and coordinating patient care, utilizing clinical judgment to develop appropriate care plans aimed at promoting comfort. This role also involves overseeing the care delivered by the patient care team and collaborating with physicians and other professionals to implement comprehensive plans of care.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and have a minimum of one year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Required certifications include a current Texas RN license, Basic Life Support (BLS), and department-specific requirements like PALS, NRP, ACLS, and PACES.
Independently performs the functions of a registered nurse in direct patient care. Utilizes the nursing process in the delivery of developmentally appropriate care. Also works in collaboration with other health care professionals to provide a comprehensive plan of care to meet the patient/family needs. Critical care settings are defined as intensive care units and/or emergency department.
