The Advanced Respiratory Care Practitioner provides routine and advanced critical respiratory care to patients across their lifespan. This includes applying theoretical knowledge of cardiopulmonary disease and treatment to clinical practice.
Candidates must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with a current State Medical Board of Ohio license. Active CPR and BLS certifications through the American Heart Association are required.

The Advanced Respiratory Care Practitioner (A.R.C.P.) has completed the National Board for Respiratory Care Registry examination (R.R.T.), and is experienced in both routine and advanced critical respiratory care. Practical knowledge of the anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of the cardiopulmonary system is required to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients receiving Respiratory Care. The Advanced Respiratory Care Practitioner must demonstrate clinical application and theoretical knowledge consistent with the current literature and accepted practice of the profession, in the principles of cardiopulmonary disease and appropriate treatment, over the life span of the patient.
