The CT Technologist performs a variety of technical procedures applying prescribed ionizing radiation for CT scans, assisting physicians in selecting practical application and technical factors. Responsibilities include performing various CT exams, explaining procedures to patients, operating complex electronic equipment, administering contrast media, and assisting in interventional CT exams.
Candidates must have completed two years of an approved Radiological Technology Program and be registered with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists, holding a current State of Connecticut license, including a CT License. Required certifications include CPR, and approved contrast injection training is necessary, with a minimum of 1 year of practical experience preferred.
