The primary role is to support the physician in the clinical setting by accurately documenting ophthalmic exams, procedures, diagnoses, and instructions to enhance efficiency. This includes coordinating patient scheduling, maintaining clinic flow, and communicating follow-up instructions to patients as directed by the physician.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with previous experience as an ophthalmic scribe or technician and familiarity with electronic medical records being preferred. The role requires physical activity such as standing, talking, and hearing, along with close visual acuity for accurate task performance.
The primary responsibility of the Ophthalmic Scribe is to support the physician in the clinical setting by enhancing efficiency and productivity. The ideal candidate will anticipate physician needs, communicate effectively with both patients and staff, and multitask seamlessly to ensure smooth clinic operations.
