The Respiratory Therapist performs all modalities of respiratory therapy, including diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, for patients across all age groups with abnormal respiratory conditions. This involves administering various treatments, managing mechanical ventilation, charting, and assisting physicians with procedures as needed.
Candidates must possess an Associate's degree, with a Bachelor's degree preferred, and hold an active Illinois Respiratory Therapist license. Required certifications include CRT or RRT, CPR, and ACLS, with NRP being preferred.
