The Laboratory Assistant is responsible for performing specimen procurement, accessioning, processing, and testing under the supervision of a licensed Clinical Lab Scientist. This role also includes providing phlebotomy services, such as venipuncture and skin puncture, to both inpatients and outpatients.
Candidates must possess a current phlebotomy certification and a valid BLS CPR certification from the American Heart Association. Preferred experience includes operating laboratory equipment and setting up cultures, along with basic computer data entry skills.
The Laboratory Assistant performs specimen procurement, accessioning, processing and testing as assigned under the supervision of a licensed Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS). Provides phlebotomy (venipuncture and skin puncture) to inpatients and outpatients.
