The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for diagnosing and treating patients in collaboration with physician colleagues, providing continuity of care by coordinating communication among the healthcare team, patient, and family. Essential functions include providing clinical direction, performing comprehensive assessments, ordering and interpreting tests, establishing diagnoses, and designing treatment plans.
Candidates must possess a Master of Science degree in Nursing with completion of a Nurse Practitioner program, be registered and certified in Maryland, and hold valid state APRN Recognition. Required qualifications also include eligibility for DEA and CDS, current CPR and BLS certifications, and required critical care experience, with a preferred minimum of one year experience as a Registered Nurse.
Under general supervision, and in collaboration with physician colleagues, responsible for diagnosing and treating patients. Provides continuity of patient care by facilitating and coordinating communication between the health care team, patient and patient’s family. Coordinates care to ensure quality, effective care and patient safety. Serves as link integrating relevant research and best practices; and other duties as assigned.
