The Direct Support Professional implements individualized plans, attends to personal care needs, and oversees the health, safety, and well-being of supported individuals. Duties also include advising nurses, participating in agency activities, transporting individuals, assisting with housekeeping, and maintaining required documentation.
Candidates must possess a valid NYS Driver’s License and be energetic and motivated staff willing to work with individuals with disabilities. No previous experience is necessary as the agency provides paid training.
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible to implement each individualized plan, attend to personal care needs, oversee the health, safety and well-being of the people we support, keep nurses advised, participate in Agency activities, transport and accompany people we support on activities in the community, assist in daily housekeeping and other facility-related duties and maintain documentation in either or both the residential and/or day habilitation / community habilitation/ school age program site.
