Key tasks include managing patient registration, scheduling appointments, answering phones, maintaining patient charts, and handling encounter ticket management and charge entry.
The minimum requirement for open competitive applicants is one year of full-time clerical, secretarial, or patient care experience within a healthcare setting. Promotion candidates must have one year of permanent service in a Grade 5 or higher title and complete a six-month traineeship.

The Department of Nursing at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a part-time Nursing Station Clerk 1, NS26 Coronary Care Unit (Nights).
Nursing Station Clerks 1 perform a wide variety of routine clerical duties in inpatient clinical settings where there is frequent contact with patients, families, physicians, and ancillary professionals. Incumbents of these positions greet visitors and direct them to appropriate locations; answer telephones; perform data entry activities; maintain daily and clinical logs; prepare, update, and maintain patient charts and files; fill out medication tickets and pharmacy requisitions; mail patient letters; and deliver supplies and records to an assigned unit.

Variable Days; 12: 00am to 8:00am (Part-Time Nights)
