Additionally the dental hygienist assists in the supervision of dental hygiene students rotating at the dental office.

Performed
Performs clinical examination of teeth and surrounding tissues and records findings and treatment plan in electronic dental record.
Removes hard and soft deposits and stains from teeth.
Applies fluoride varnish. Applies pit and fissure sealant
Provides patient instruction and counseling regarding oral hygiene and proper nutrition and dietary issues.
Exposes radiographs and files in digital patient database.
Consistently performs correct periodontal charting, and gives correct recommendations and treatment plans to periodontal patients.
Performs duties of expanded duty dental assistant when required.
Ensures work area is kept safe, clean and well organized with an adequate amount of supplies.
Maintains a cooperative and professional working environment with co-workers and patients.
Abides by all OSHA, EPA and HIPAA regulations.
Requirements
Education
High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Dental Hygienist course and radiography certificate.
Work Experience
SC licensure as a Dental Hygienist.
One year experience working as a Dental Hygienist is required
Must be computer literate and have experience using dental electronic record systems.
Experience using digital radiography system.
