Interns will support adults recently discharged from hospitals or emergency rooms by conducting outreach, building rapport, addressing home needs, and connecting clients to necessary resources. Responsibilities also include completing intake sessions, observing assessments, and documenting all service activities and client contacts.
This is an unpaid internship geared towards Master's level students, specifically first-year students or those needing practicum experience in mental health services for adults. Successful candidates will gain exposure to various service settings and develop skills in supportive counseling and coordination with a multi-disciplinary team.
• Client engagement and outreach, learning to build rapport, active listening and supportive counseling, exposure to inpatient and outpatient services, gain familiarity with client population of adults with mental health and co-morbid conditions, exposure to variety of settings for counselors and social workers, learn to coordinate and work with multi-disciplinary team
