The Peer Support Specialist will use personal lived experience with addiction and recovery to provide mentorship, emotional support, and advocacy to patients undergoing medication-assisted treatment (MAT). Responsibilities include facilitating recovery groups, assisting patients in navigating community resources, and aiding in the development of relapse prevention skills.
Candidates must possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalency and must hold current NC Certified Peer Support Specialist certification. Applicants must also have personal experience as a recipient of Substance Use Disorder (SUD) services and possess reliable transportation.

As a Certified Peer Support Specialist in the Opioid Treatment Program, you'll utilize personal lived experience with addiction and recovery to provide mentorship, emotional support, and advocacy to patients receiving medication-assisted treatment (MAT). They facilitate recovery groups, help navigate community resources, and aid in developing relapse prevention skills.
