Mental Health Specialists deliver direct care services, ensuring compassionate and culturally sensitive treatment while implementing personalized interventions and the agency's milieu model. They are responsible for maintaining the living environment, providing life skill training, and actively communicating resident progress during treatment team meetings.
Candidates must possess empathy, a fundamental love for children, and a willingness to learn new methods, coupled with strong personal authority, maturity, and integrity. Minimum qualifications include actively pursuing a mental health-related Bachelor's degree, having a Bachelor's degree and pursuing a graduate degree with two completed courses, or possessing a high school diploma/GED plus two years of relevant direct service experience.

Mental Health Specialists (MHS) deliver direct care services under the supervision of a Therapist or a Mental Health Professional who is responsible for each resident’s Active Treatment Plan. Mental Health Specialists have one of the most direct and influential roles in our residents’ progress in treatment.
Mental Health Specialists report directly to their unit’s Supervisor regarding shift scheduling, training, daily activity schedules, house maintenance, and all the other tasks related to the direct care of residents.
