The Pharmacist compounds and dispenses medication based on physician orders, monitoring drug therapy for appropriateness, and screening for interactions and contraindications. They are also responsible for providing drug information to physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, and patients.
Applicants must be licensed as a Registered Pharmacist by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy. One year of hospital pharmacy experience is required for the third shift, while previous hospital experience is highly desirable for all other shifts.
