The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) functions as a member of the operating room team to ensure safe and efficient surgical procedures. They handle instruments, supplies, and equipment, anticipate the needs of the surgeon, and maintain the sterile field.
Candidates must have current CST certification or complete a military surgical technology program. They must also have current BLS certification and are encouraged to be a member of a professional organization.
