The Respiratory Therapist assists physicians and nurses in diagnosing and treating patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies by administering therapeutic, preventive, and diagnostic procedures. Key duties include implementing oxygen/gas therapy, maintaining equipment, performing blood gas analysis, and managing ventilatory devices.
A High School Diploma or GED is required, along with an active Respiratory Care license and either the CRT credential or completed LPN competencies for Respiratory Care. Preferred qualifications include the RRT or CRT credential.
