The provider will deliver stabilization and treatment services to patients with mental health and substance use diagnoses. Responsibilities include performing medical diagnoses, prescribing medications, managing medication regimens, and collaborating with clinical teams to facilitate positive patient outcomes.
Candidates must hold a current North Carolina license or certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. Experience in managing mental health disorders and substance use treatment is required.

At Easterseals PORT Health, we’re seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mid-level Medical Provider, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Physician's Assistant (PA), to join our Outpatient Therapy Team (OPT) in New Bern, NC. As a valued member of our collaborative and supportive team, you will work together to transform the lives of individuals by providing a comprehensive range of services that treat the whole person and empower patients to find their way forward.
The primary purpose of the Mid-level Provider, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Physician's Assistant (PA), is to provide stabilization and treatment services to patients with a mental health and/or substance use diagnosis and will work in collaboration with other clinical professions to facilitate positive outcomes for them. Services provided to patients include but are not limited to giving medical diagnosis, ordering therapy and prescribing medications as well as medication management. The Provider maintains accurate and up to date referral sources, a therapeutic environment and promotes appropriate and healthy interpersonal behavior. Supervision is provided for NP's and PA's.
You’ll earn a competitive salary ($120K-130K+) based on your experience plus enjoy a Monday-Friday, 8 am-5 pm work schedule with some evening flexibility for program and client needs. This full-time position will work out of the New Bern clinic providing in-person care to patients in addition to providing tele-health to other clinics.
