The technologist is responsible for performing technical procedures involving the operation of Nuclear Medicine Instrumentation, including gamma cameras and PET scanners, while adhering to radiation safety practices. Key duties involve administering radiopharmaceuticals, performing quality control on equipment, and preparing images and reports for physician diagnosis.
Candidates must complete an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology Didactic and Clinical Competency program and possess an Associate's Degree. Required certifications include BLS, and CNMT must be obtained within one year of hire, with equivalent experience required within one month of hire or transfer.
Certifications and Licensures
BLS - Basic Life Support Required Equivalent Experience - Within 1 month of hire or transfer CNMT - Cert Nuclear Med Technologist Required Equivalent Experience - CNMT required within one year of hire or transfer.
