The PET Technologist performs PET imaging procedures, including the injection of radiopharmaceuticals and contrast, protocol setup, patient positioning, and image processing. Responsibilities also include collaborating on technical issues, adhering to compliance programs, and conducting daily quality control measures for scanner performance.
Candidates must meet specific experience and education criteria based on the desired level (Level 1, 2, or Sr), generally requiring an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine or Radiologic Technology with relevant PET-CT certification. Certification such as CNMT and/or ARRT(N) is required, along with specific years of experience in nuclear medicine and PET.
