Medical Office Assistants execute clinical and administrative tasks aligned with their Medical Assistant education, training, and experience within the practice setting. They support both clinical and front office functions, assisting in healthcare delivery and patient care activities as needed by the practice.
A High School Diploma or GED is required, along with a minimum of six months of experience using a computer, Microsoft Office, and email, plus six months of clinical experience in a healthcare facility. Alternatively, completion of specific clinical education or a MedsCert Medical Assistant Program satisfies the experience requirement.
Medical Office Assistants perform clinical and administrative duties consistent with Medical Assistant program education, training and experience. Works in both the clinical and front office functions of the practice providing clerical and assisting in the delivery of health care and patient care support activities. The Medical Office Assistant performs duties in accordance with the specific needs of the practice.
Experience: Completion of a medical assistant program or equivalent. Minimum of six months’ experience as a medical office assistant (MOA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or equivalent. Minimum of six months’ experience with an electronic health record. Completion of a medical assistant program or equivalent.
